A laser sintered nylon fitting, using Shapeways, that enables you to add a standard watering can flower, and use the previous nights water on garden plants.

This project was inspired by a picture of local Wellingtonian watering her plants with a hot water bottle. The idea or solving personal design problems is one that fits particularly well with the concept of manufacturing on demand and mass customisation, so to design a fixture that enabled to found objects to be joined together seemed a logical step. This combination allows the more delicate flora to be tended.

The Hot Watering Can acts as a bold visual metaphor, illustrating an approach on how to tackle everyday issues of sustainability and eco-awareness.
